Design philosophy ...

ppl said Ranjan's class ll be life changing experience ... 'dharti phat jayegi , asman gir jayega' etc etc..l dont know how much it changed me ...u read n let me know ..

To do good design ..one must be clear with its philosophy...
imp lessons i learned :
1. Internet is not everything... which made me to go out and start observing things from my perspective ... { ethnography }
2. To design chair .. u need to know how big his butt is ! ...emphasis on user research...
3.everything we do have impact on surrounding...

Some of rich conversations happened in course
designers journey about 'strange making to sense making'...
being born as arrogant ...coming out of box of ego...

everyone was trying hard to understand wat n y design is ?
experience ... usability ... creativity... intelligence ?
its still vague as it was...

The final exercise termed 'me board' was one the most difficult for few of us.

because this requires a high degree of honesty, akin to 'searching for the truth',
and then representing it in some 'form' - better if its hand drawn { typical NID! }...

to sum up ...lets make some sense out of life guys ...

Delhi 6 .... Big disappointment

Being a designer I would have taken all the efforts talking beauty of the movie, because I have great empathy towards people making things artistic and different.

But I am writing this with deep pain and frustration after watching ‘delhi 6’.

Patchy and irrelavant second half really takes away all the credit of technicians.

The cinematography in first half is visual treat to eyes. And as expected rehman’s music is awesome.Screenplay fails to use both. Songs are abruptly cut.

'Kala bandar' is still dancing in my head.(its freaking pathetic ).

Abhishek have some scene in heaven with his dad( Amitabh of course). It’s like he appears there by missed call or something. That’s when audience loses patience and start laughing.

Fortunately the great actors like Rishi Kapoor and Atul Kulkarni are pleasant to watch.New comer Aditi Rao Hydari makes her mark in role of Ruma Bua.

Remaining is a pure waste of talent.
